Montgomery, Ala. - Alabama State University will be the site of several fun and exciting sports camps for young people during the summer of 2008.

There will be programs for basketball (girls and boys), tennis and football. All of the camps are very affordable and will offer the opportunity for first-class instruction and competition at top-notch facilities.

The camps include:

• Tennis - ASU head coach Bernard Sewell will offer the Selma-Montgomery-Tuskegee Tennis camp (SMTT) for two weeks. The first session will be June 23-27 and the second session will be July 14-18. • Girls basketball - Freda Freeman-Jackson, the winningest coach in ASU women's basketball history, will lead the Division I Girls basketball camp. From June 16-19, players will receive four full days of individual and team instruction, while participating in team round robin play. • Boys basketball - Boys can learn from the staff of the 2008 SWAC champions, led by ASU head coach Lewis Jackson, during a camp for boys scheduled for June 9-12. The camp only costs $95, and

• Football - Reggie Barlow and the ASU football coaching staff will offer two opportunity for position-specific instruction. For only $25, the "Pound the Rock: O-Line/D-Line Clinic" set for June 13 will provide linemen with the skills and techniques needed to be successful in the trenches. The 7-on-7 passing tournament will allow your team to compete against some of the country's best talent. The fee is only $100 per team, and $85 if you are bring multiple teams.
