Averett, named 2007 preseason All-SWAC, returns to the field after losing most of 2006 to injury. Physical tackling style earned the nickname "Crunch".

2006: Entered season with high hopes after earning preseason 2nd team All-SWAC honors...lost for season early in the third game with wrist injury.

2005: Became full-time starter after consistently showing ability to play man coverage across the field. Three interception led team.

2004: Immediately earned playing time as a freshman...Played on all special teams.
