Montgomery, Ala. - It was the last home game of her career, and Shantae Robinson was exactly where she wanted to be - in the middle of the court with ball in her hands.

With less than ten seconds remaining and Alabama State trailing by one, Coach Freda Freeman-Jackson was out of timeouts. She trusted Robinson and her senior point guard came through, canning a tough runner in the lane while being fouled to put ASU ahead of Jackson State to put the Lady Hornets up 68-67.

Robinson then stepped to the line and drained the free throw. With five seconds left, the ASU defense stopped JSU from getting a good shot and the Lady Hornets walked out with a thrilling 69-67 win.

"I think my team is trying to give me a heart attack," Freeman-Jackson said. "But, I give them credit because they play so hard."

It was a tight game throughout, with eight ties and seven lead changes.

With the score knotted at 62 with just over four minutes remaining, DeQuisha Davis hit a three-pointer to put JSU up 65-64. Assunta Fulgham's jump shot pulled ASU within one. Erica Trahan scored to push the lead back to six.

That's when Robinson took over the game. She converted two free throws after being fouled to draw within one, setting the stage for her heroics. Robinson totaled 17 points and six rebounds in her final Acadome appearance. Erica Lumpkin led all scorers with 21, while also pulling down 8 rebounds . Fulgam added 12 points.

The Lady Hornets (12-17, 8-10) move on to the SWAC Tournament, wher e as the #8 seed they'll face #1 seed Prairie View A & M on Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m.
